Thaipusam 2010 was a complete different experience for Rupster. The eve started of as usual. Waking up at 5 am and walking uo to the main road to see the chariot procession. By the time the chariot reached and left our place was already 7.30. Came home and got back to sleep.
At night, at about 10 something we made our journey to Batu Caves. Rupster's intention was to stay there throughout the whole night and watch the kavadi's. Indeed it was a very nice experiance. Seeing the different types of kavadis, different types of trance and at the same time seeing so many different characters in one place!
It was just the eve and the crowd was massive! First time in Rupster's life, she has seen that sort of crowd up the caves. But with God's grace we manage to go up pray and return down safely. With that huge of crowd, Rupster so many people that she knew. Not sure if they saw Rupster but Rupster saw them. Only managed to approach some of them just to say a "hye" due to the moving crowd. Meeting Superhero was a very big and pleasant surprise. Its been ages since we last met. It was just a "hi" and "bye" thing to them but it was enough!
Being there the whole night, we left Batu Caves at about 9.30 am. Came home had a very short nap and went out for lunch. After lunch had another short nap before meeting up with the loved ones. It was a night to be remembered. It was short night out but enough time for bondings. Looking forward for more time to be spent!
A very different way of looking at Thaipusam and a night to be remembered!
