Here we go again. The second month of the year is done. How fast time runs. In fact, February has been extremely fast not because it only has 28 days but as a whole the month was gone in split seconds. But as a whole,

A very short month but yet very memorable. Lots of time spent with the loved ones. Its also the end of the holidays. So its back to school for Rupster from March onwards.

Rupster says " About Another Birthday of the Family"

 

 

Yes, it was another birthday we celebrated again last night. It was just like all the birthdays that we have been celebrating with the family. This time with 2 family members that is hardly or never around with us to celebrate all these joyous celebration. Cousin from the UK, Sharmilla was down. She's come back after 11 long years to pay us a visit again.

 

She has been around for the last 12 days. She was rotating and staying with all her aunties for the last 10 day untill she was joined by a friend 2 days ago. Such a coincident, aunty celebrates her 65th birthday as Sharmilla was down with us. So she came along to get the feel of how we have been celebrating our birthdays together all these years.

 

Dinner was completely a seafood delight. It was a shop names Robbinson's Heights. Food was good. The crabs were heaven! We even saw an advertisement for for Crab Claypot Rice. Wonder what is that. Probably we may go back there again to try it out.

It was pretty hard to get all these four of them to smile! Sharmilla wanted to get a group shot of all her aunties to show her mum how does all her sisters look like. Its been about 10 years since aunty had come down form the UK.

And that's a cousin group shot. Not really complete as we are are missing another 3 Kandiah grandchildren. Also missing in the group picture is the grandson - in-law and the great-grand-daughter of the Kandiahs'.

Rupster says "About Chinese New Year 2010"

Its been some time now since the last update. Rupster had been busy being the unofficial tourist guide for her UK cousin. Its been very hectic but very much fun though. More about that later. For now lets see what happened for Chinese New Year. 

Chinese New Year (CNY) 2010 had been a very long weekend break for everybody.  Regardless if you are celebrating or not. This year it had been a celebration as well because Valentines Day falls on the very first day of CNY.

CNY every year is has a usual routine here at home. On the eve of CNY, we have our usual pilgrimage trip to the Marathandavar temple in Maran, Pahang. We  started the journey early to avoid the massive "balik kamapung" jam. We reached the temple at about 9.30 am and had a picnic under a tree at the temple. After the first session of prayers, we usually distribute Mandarin Oranges to the crowd as a form of our offerings. And every year we get mobbed by the Indian traders. This year was the worst. We totally lost control of the entire crowd. Thank God, we have a teacher among us to calm things down and get the crowd back to place.

As we finished lunch. we left the temple compound at about 1.30.  Surprisingly this year the Maran journey had not been as hectic as it has always been. It was very much relaxed compared to the previous years. Made it back just in time for tea.

The next day 14th February was the first day of CNY. Usually the first day of CNY we celebrate it with our neighbors for lunch. This year, as aunty was not feeling well so the did not have have the usual do. And dinner was also at a usual spot that we go every year. But Rupster did not go for that as she had decided to celebrate CNY this year in a different style by visiting a shopping mall. Surprisingly the mall was actually crowded! That was when it actually striked us it was Valentines Day and that was why the ceowd was all around!

Second day of CNY, 15th February we had a small family get together here at Rupster's home. It was actually to welcome the UK cousin and have some family time together. It was very much fun and with the doggies around, it made things even more exciting. And the food? We came up with the pot-luck concept. In which everyone bring a dish. It was the best that we ever had! We had all the sisters different specialty to choose and eat. Too much food but it was very the worth! *did not manage to take much pictures though*

Third day of CNY, 16th February we made a visit to Putrajaya. Yes. You read it right. We decided to go there for a boat ride. But we kindda reached there late and the had closed the ticket counter. So we just walked around. Took pictures and enjoyed the sunset view.

The place was crowded being a public holiday. But it was a fun and wonderful day out with the geng. After Putrajaya we headed for TGIF in PJ for dinner. It was dad's first time there and it was hilarious watching all his reaction!

A very tiring 3 day of activities. But it has been a great time of spending time with the loved ones. A CNY @ Valentines Day that is indeed to be remembered.

Rupster says " About Will Be Back"

Its been a long time since the last update. Rupster has been busy being an unauthorized tour guide and at the same time getting other things done. Will update soon!

Rupster says " About Tobby's New Friend"

Introducing the 5th member of the family Mr. Teddy.

 Teddy

Yeap in the short span of less than 3 months Teddy joins the family.

After Tobby, now we have Teddy. Teddy is from the Golden Retriever breed. He is now 2 months and has been with us for less than a week. Its been less than a week but the boy is growing pretty fast. Just this evening Rupster realizes that he looks more teller to what he looks in the picture and when he first came.

The first day he arrived, Tobby was not too happy about it. Just like little children. How we get jealous when we see our parents carrying another child we get offended. That was how Tobby reacted. With lots of sound as well. Until today there are still not the best of friends but they are in the process of becoming friends. Its not that easy to handle the both of them at the same time but we've been managing. We take turns. So its been good so far.

This means that  it's extra entertainment time  for us at home. When Tobby was around he entertained us alone. Now its the 2 of them. So lets wait and see what is going to happen.

January 2010 started off with a blast. It was brand New Year. Not everything was new but it was a good way to kick start the year. Its amazing how fast time is passing by. The end of the first month of the year has been covered.

January has been a great month indeed. Or in other words its been a Roller-Coaster ride!
