Rupster says "About the 2010 Reunion"

This is a long overdue post. So here it goes.

Its been sometime now that we've been planning an outing together. We've gone too many but the group never seems to be complete. This time around, the group was also not complete but those who never got to follow us all these while got to come along. Thus bringing in an all new experience.

After much of planning, we decided to pick Melacca as the destination. Looking at the fact that we wanted a place where we could have a good time and at the same time get good food along with it. Penang was too far because we all had limited time. So we choose Melacca instead. With Melacca we would be saving much time on traveling as well. So Melacca was THE place.

The first batch of us left in the afternoon while the second batch arrived at night. We had to leave earlier because of the checking-in. It was indeed a huge apartment. With 3 rooms and 2 baths. The apartment came in with the basic facilities. We even had two balconies. WOne was the hall balcony that was facing the main road. While the other balcony was at the kitchen side and this was partially facing the sea. Yes. The sea!!!

We've never really been to the beach side of Melacca. This time we got to though it was not a beach. But we manage to stand along the sea and get the fresh breeze of the sea. The first batch of us arrived early enough for us to prepare what ever was needed. We even had a short nap knowing that it was going to be a long night.

After the nap, we got ready for dinner. Since we knew Melacca roads a bit so it was not a problem at all deciding where and what we wanted to have. As we were just finishing dinner, the second batch arrived. Had to go and pick them up because of their uncertainty of the Melacca routes. So there we are, 2 cars, and 8 people gathered to rock Melacca.

Since it was late, we headed for supper and went back to the apartment. As expected the night was way too long that most of us lacked of sleep. After all, holidays are not really meant to be for sleeping right? But we all manged to get a short nap in the morning and were up 11 am to kick start our day.

Of course we needed energy because being in Melacca is all about walking to one place to another. So we headed for lunch at Ole Sayang *yeap the place again*. Rupster was glad that all of them liked the food. So after lunch we headed to Jonker's Street. Walked along the whole street. Stopped by for some cendol and ice kacang at the famous stop there.

After walking around Jonker Street, we headed towards the A'Famosa Monument. Some of them wanted to go over to the church for Mass because they would not be able to make it for Sunday Mass. So as the few of them went to church, the rest of us were just walking around until. As we were walking around we saw these small sort of stall where they were having a few types of snakes and iguana. People are allowed to snap a photograph with any of these reptiles for the fees of RM 10. They guys got a bit too excited for it and decided to take the challenge on. So we snapped a few shots there.

After that session, we still had more time. That when we came across the Melacca tourist bus. It only costs RM 2 to board the bus. The bus would take you to all the main attraction of Melacca. It was indeed a good ride. Bus was not to packed either. It was double-decker bus, and we being us of course took the upper deck! As we saw the places we were also busy cam-hoaring in the bus as usual!

Our bus arrived just in time as the girls finished church. It was getting late so we had a fast walk up the A'Famosa Monument. The time we reached up was almost the sun-set time. It was a great moment for pictures. Using that as a chance we snapped and snapped as much as we wanted to. We walked around, read the information provided about the place. Yes boring but would be helpful one day or rather!

The original plan was to go back to the apartment, refresh ourselves and then continue with dinner at the Portuguese Settlement. But it would be too late for dinner if were to do that looking at the fact that there were 5 girls to get ready! So we decided to just go ahead with dinner. Finding the place was not an easy task! We had maps to help us but it was just not a help at all. After 45 minutes of trying we decided to call for help. So thankfully the contacts were a great help to help us lead the way to the settlement.

We were not giving up either because we've been looking forward to have a meal there. One, because there was a lot of variety. Two, you don';t really get Portuguese food that easily around KL and if there was also it would not be the original taste. Third and most important point it was along the sea!!!

All the driving around for more than an hour in the car just to find the place was payed back with a great dinner. We choose seafood and by the end of the meal, we were all too stuffed to move around. So we walked along the sea and chit-chatted there for sometime before we headed back to the apartment.

Bck at the apartment we continued with the chit-chatting though we were all fighting against tiredness and lack of sleep. The second night too was a sleepless night. But we managed to squeeze time in just for a few hours of sleep before we left back for KL.

Third day also started off late. So we packed up all our stuffs, checked out and headed for lunch. Lunch for third day was just a simple meal becuase we were all still too stuffed with all the food and drinks we had all along the second day. Thus, it was rest time for the stomach.

Before heading back to KL, we stopped by at the Melacca Zoo. We've all been having the urge to got to the zoo for quite some time. So since we were passing by the zoo beofre heading to the highway, we stoped at the zoo. It was so nice to walk around seee animals that we've not seen for some time. It was tiring walking and the animals looked lifeless but it was the time and satisfied our urge of visiting the zoo.

Overall, it was good and very memorable trip. A trip that we have all been looking forward to for a very long time. For some of them, it was a short break away from books and assignments. We never really got to spend time like this together for a very long time. It was good catch up time and good bonding moments we all had together.

The planning was tough, but the outcome was great. Looking forwards for more to come. Not too soon but some day or rather we would make another memorable trip together!

Rupster says " About The Historical City"

So the holidays have finally started!

The next day after exams, Rupster and geng headed to the historical city of Malaysia, Melaka. For once we decided for Melaka because we though of History and we shall go there and make our own History there too.

The weather was quite bad but we manged to move around. We never really needed the car because everything was just walking distance. If we were to take the car the journey would had seem even further from one place to another. So we ditched the car and decided to go healthy!

All we did was walk and walk. Eat and Eat. Mamak and mamak. Movies and movies!!

Again it was a very relaxing outing but yet it was so much fun.

Rupster has been to Melaka quite a few times but this time she went to a place that she has never been before.

The place is known as Taming Sari. Chuman has been mentioning about this place from the time we reached. Ruspter had no idea what he was talking about. Lucky he mention about the revolving tower and Rupster knew immediately what he was talking about.

It was freaking RM 20 to go up there. As we were walking away due to its non worthiness, the receptionist called us and asked if were Malaysian's. Apparently for Malaysian's we were being charged half of that price. So we thought we should give it a try.

Though there was a slight drizzle, the view was FANTASTIC with all the lights! We could basically see the entire city. And as usual all we did was cam -whoring all the way up and down!

Taming Sari

The day before we got back, we headed to most of the historical monuments. After quite a walk, we decided to head for lunch and leave Melaka. For lunch we headed towards Malaka Raya. Rupster has always been to this place every time there was a family trip to Melaka. This particular shop is known as Ole Sayang. They serve the typical "baba & nyonya" food there.

Since it was their first trip to Melaka, Rupster decided to take them there for lunch. The food was simply superb and the belacan was just so heavenly!!!

Another place that Rupster has not been in Malaka is the chicken rice ball shop. This time we made it a point to go there and try it out. It is located at Jonker's Street. It was not too bad. Something different.

A trip filled with history.

A trip filled with education.

A trip filled with fun.

A trip filled with food.

Chicken Rice Ball

Soft taufu with oyster sauce

The menu we had at Ole Sayang

Belacan

Cendol

A trip filled with loads of sweet and unforgettable memories.

P/s We had 3 same "aunty bags"

Not much words for this trip but it was filled with fun,fun and fun. More on the way!!!

Yahoooooooooo..............

Rupster says " About a Good & Fun January"

It looks like this blog is only being updated when there are photos to be uploaded with rather short stories that has been happening around....

It feels like 2008 just started and its already FEBRUARY ...How time flies so fast...*grins*

After 3 years i walked again for Thaipusam this year with Bavani and Siva...We actually reached Batu Caves in 4 hours!!!According to them this is their fastest walk ever!!! To tell the truth, the we were not walking but i practically felt we were running!!! As usual, as we reached Batu Caves straight we went up and than went home. Thaipusam day went back to Batu Caves 2 times. Morning once and in the night once. Mind you i went up the stairs both the times!!!

And not tiring at all!!!

Its been a good start so far and infact Cuti-cuti Malaysia has started for as early as January for this 2008!!! *yeah i know its too fast*

With no other choice i accepted the offer to Melacca for a weekend's break last week!!! In the name of sending Shall back to MMU we reached Melacca. Well the 1st batcj left on Saturday morning with 5 people in the car. The second batch left at about 7.45 and i was in the second batch.

Which means we reached there just in time for dinner. *had mcD on the way from KL* Reached Melacca by 9 and went straight to Jonker's Walk.. That place was full of stalls selling all sorts off things including food stuff. We bought some popiah and joined the other group that was there and was already eating.
At Jonker's Walk

The 3 different looks by the 3 sisters!!! *a very rare shot of the 3 sisters*

Being the smart people some of us did not eat coz we had already planned to go to the Portugese Settlement for dinner. And it was all worth the wait coz we had to eat the best crab ever!!!!
Its just so delicious that no words can explain it.Its just like u r floating i n HEAVEN *maybe*
The heavenly Red Chile Crabs

The first to attack the crabs!!!

Than as the clock stroke 12 there comes the birthday cake for the b'day girl....Well we bought the cake from KL and after ordering our food to come, the 3 musketeers *prem, shal n me* pretend to go to the car to get something...Than we took the cake to the shop that we ordered our food n told the guy to bring the cake at 12am *by the way the guy that i was speaking was so cute!!!*..ok getting back to the surprise cake...the food we ordered came before the cake reached and by than the 3 sisters hands were already full of crabs!!!

So the sequence of the cake coming is as below :

She gets her hands dirty without knowing what was coming...

Than the cake comes but she did not realize it...*by the way the cute guy is on the left but the face not clear though :( *

Than she finally realizes there is cake for her....

She smiles as we sing...

And the candles were blown...

A group shot where the Kandiah's actually SMILED!!

Finished dinner at almost 1.30 am. Than we headed back to our hotel where the booking of the room was only done for 2 people but 8 people ended up in A room!!! Yes u read it right 8 people in a room which was "suppose" to be for 2....The room ended up being like a place for pendatang asing...but it was though with everyone in a room and all the storying sessions..

The second day was full of jalan-jalan but not much pictures was taken coz all of us were having camera problems!!All we did was eat...eat n eat!!! The best was the Nonya food that we ate!!! It was the pure authentic Nyonya food...N i ate so much of belacan....Though without camera, Shal n I were still forced to camwhore even just with the camera phone!!!

Yup...we also went to temple and this picture looks creepy...

Other than Melacca, this week also has been a really good week *minus all the assignments*...Many good things happen.

With taking the risk and trying out my luck by just sending an forwarded SMS....i ACTUALLY got a reply back from that person!!! OMG!!!

Thats among the best thing that has happened to me after a very LONG time!!! With that reply i continued the SMS and we actually exchanged a few SMS-es which is a very good sign to me!!!

Lets hope the GOOD TIME is to be CONTINUED!!!
