Rupster says "About Missing in Action"

Its been a way long time since the last update! More than a month actually. It all started with study break, than exams, than Deepavali, than back to exams, a short long weekend holiday, open house and than helping out at the shop.

Study break came which means it was also the exams season. Exams went on fine. Studied did the best that could be done. Next is just to wait for the results. If everything goes on well, next semester would the final semester for Degree life. So hoping and praying hard for the best!

Exams did not help to tarnish the fun of Deepavali though. Deepavali went on as smooth as it has been like all the past years. In fact, this year there has been extra blasting. It was also the year were least pictures were taken! We were all too busy blasting our firecrackers than to take pictures!

After Deepavali it was back to exam mode. At the same time it was also "open house" planning. This year some how it was supposed to be done on a very small scale. Somehow it ended up being very big! The last time it happened was maybe 4 years back. Though we were late 2 weeks but it turned to be totally awesome! It took Rupster 1 whole week to clean the house but just hours to get messed up. The whole mess was worth though. Each and every (almost) family member were there. It was such a great reunion. Though everyone did not get the equal amount of attention but everyone entertained each other. They all mange to catch after such a long time. It was a long night indeed.

Everyone had so much fun. The food was out of the world! One of the best food! Everyone enjoyed it so much that there was not much balance left. It was also a blasting night as well. Not as much blasting but we did manage to burst some. At least the little ones had fun bursting the "pop pop's".

And than holidays are carrying on with helping out at the shop. Which means the whole day is spent. Not forgetting the little bit of driving around as well. Just before exam we headed over to JB for a short holiday because it was a long weekend. Will post up in the next entry about JB with lots of pictures!

Till then.............

p/s sorry for the pictureless update. Will post up the pictures really soon!

Rupster says " About September 2011 and a Little of October"

This is a way OVERDUE post!!! Been so busy and a little of laziness has caused the blog a temporary silentness!

Lets start with the September summary. It was the usual busy month where assignments come to an end. Here rush and there rush. Chasing around group members who just never give their work on time! They promise at the start with so much sweet words than towards the end it all turns from sweet to sour to bitter!!! Very annoying! The worst part is when you keep calling them and they dont answer the freaking phone!!! grrr

Other than that September has been a usual month with the usual routines going around.

On the other hand, October is here. The month has been good. Semester is coming to an end. Which means exam time! Sadly, this time exams falls on Deepavali week! Worst part, a paper on the even and only finishes at 6! Never the less, shopping has been done. Major one though. Hehe...

We headed for Klang and it was a long and tiring day! The out come was also worth it all! This year no theme colour but it all turned out to be multi-colour year! We even bought the same colour for all of us to be worn. 2 of it are in the same design. The Background colours are the same. Just the pattern colour is different.

Since exams and Deepavali falls at the same time, the usual house celebration has been postponed to a further date. It would be just a simple gathering with the usual geng. That's all for now! Wait for the next entry! Happy Waiting!!!

Rupster says "About Deepavali 2010"

As mentioned in the previous entry, Deepavali this year has been very much different as expected. Our Deepavali norm starts of with an open-house do at our place than the morning of Deepavali we would go to temple than head straigh of to Gombak as there are 3 houses to cover. Than come back in the evening, freshen up and start the night session outings.
This year, the was no eve do, so it was taken over by Rupster's aunty in Kepong. That really helped Rupster get the spirit of Deepavali this year. Before that, there was no spirit of Deepavali any where around. There was no time to even go shopping and get the festive spirit. It was indeed tiring as the night before lacked of sleep! Than Rupster had to do the usual climbing here and there hanging the lights and carrying all the heavy stuffs. The worst was carrying the huge antique chair they had to be thrown away! Even till today the body still aches!

But it was a nice family reunion. Seeing everyone again. Not that we dont meet often but it has always been incomplete. These type of days that brings everyone together. This year was more lighted up as the little ones have grown and entertained us all night. From 1 it grew to 2...So the 2 really made the day more colourful!

Deepavali day we headed to the temple in the morning. Not knowing where to go, we decided to go to KK's place. Their place has always been the last stop for the day and that is where we do the finale of fireworks and crackers.

So of we went to their house. People say, no matter how often you eat tosai but the taste of tosai that comes on deepavali morning is very much different. And indeed it was very much different! Don't know why but it just tasted extra delicious! In fact, this is the first year we actually had tosai in the morning after such a long time. Used to have tosai at aunty's place those days but our timing later on changed so we went there in time for lunch.

So we spent the whole morning at KK's place. At about noon we got back and it was time for Rupster to go for her own Deepavali outing. All these years, Rupster never really got the chance to go out visiting friends on Deepavali day though they invite without fail every year. This is year was a great chance to pay them a visit.

4 houses in total. With a lot of food and Deepavali goodies. Meeting Sunitha after such a long time was so much fun! Rupster was trying hard to make to her place as she always comes over when ever she is invited. We had so much to catch up on. Though it was for a very short while, but we managed to catch quite a bit! Short time but we still mange to do all our usual crazy stuffs which includes taking lots and lots of pictures!

Some how, this year's celebration passed by well enough without the feeling of something missing. Yet, deep down in the heart, Rupster still misses the usual routine we had the last 22 years! Next year it would be back to normal again but wonder how the routine is going to work.

2 days after Deepavli is another day of the year Rupster always looks forward to. That is when the whole entire of dad's side of the family gathers. We used to have so much fun though it was only a prayer. We spent the entire day there chit-chatting, playing games and just catching up with each other. Its going to be a very different scenario after this. Someone has to do something about it! or else we would only end up meeting at weddings or any other family functions! It would never be the same again but lets see what happens next year!

After finishing with the 4 houses, Rupster had to join thef amily back. And so that was another house to go to with the same food and delicious Deepavali goodies! Once done there we headed back to KK's place again to play our usual fireworks and crakers!

So thats how the whole Deepavali of 2010 was spent! A very new experience and lots of unexpected things occurred but this is all just a good and positive signs!

Rupster says "About Pre and Post"

The much awaited time of the year by the Indian's finally arrived!

Its finally DEEPAVALI!!!!

This year was one of the most busiest year ever! With assignments all due so close by one after another and at the same time preparing for Deepavali.

But it was a Deepavali to be remembered.

We had our usual do at home.Just that this time we minimized on the crowd but it still ended up to the usual number of crowd. preparation was very tiring. Though Rupster had planned every that needs to be done, but there was always something that cropped at the last minute. Food layout was just like all the previouse year. But this year focus was given more towards the vegetarian variety being it be a Friday.

Surprisingly Ruspter's secret recipe for the drink turned to be the best...muhahaha...so many people tried to find out the secret but NOTHING at all was revealed! All that Rupster said was, "If you want, i could come and mix for you but secret revealing" hahaha *with the evil laugh*

It was also a mini gathering for the geng. Since everyone was around, we decided to give Chuman a surprise for his Birthday. So it ended up being a 2 in 1 celebration. This time the geng was even bigger. Yup it was like a mini ex SMP-ians gathering.

Deepavali day was the usual routine. Going to the temple, visiting grandma, uncles and aunties. And the visiting session last us for the next 3 days! Also not forgetting the ang pow collection!

Collection was pretty bad this year but it was considered to be good enough! Yeay..a holiday is on the plan!

What was different this year was, on the night of Deepavali day. We headed to Taman Yarl for dinner. It was a very last minute planing but it turned to be the best!

The food was vegetarian as well BUT as usual turned to be so good! Everyone even had to pack back food due too loads of extras and the packed food lasted Rupster's house for 3 long days!

We had tonnes of place to play with all the fireworks we had. And yes, without worrying bout anyone's car or an electric wire was running above us. We were so free to light up whatever we wanted.

Even the oldies joined us this time. It was like we were entertaining them when they decided to bring a long chair to sit and watch the fun! Towards the end, even they joined us playing.

It was nice seeing the whole neighborhood lighted up with the colorful fireworks. And we were glad that we also contributed to the colors!

The next day after Deepavali was also fireworks time!

After a very long time this has been a Deepavali filled with fireworks. It was 3 days filled with fun!

We have also decided to upgrade to the more adventurous type of fireworks for next year's celebration!
It has been a very memorable Deepavali this year! So much had happened and its all been safely stored in the memory box!

It was also a vegetarian Deepavali this time. Though it was vegetarian, the food still turned out to be so nyumness!!!

One thing that was missed out this year is the annual prayers we have for grandpa 2 days after Deepavali in Gombak. All these years, this was the only opportunity where the whole family would gather and end up spending the whole day together. The morning will start with the prayers and lunch onwards it was back to the Deepavali mode. The whole day is spent there and after dinner it used to be fireworks time again.

This year, grandma put a stop to it due to her health. It was a very weird feeling staying at home on this day because we never really was at home every year 2 days after Deepavali. Well, nothing in this world is meant to last forever. There could be another opportunity for all of us to meet up again at any time of the year. Owh and did Rupster mention that this was the day that ang pow collection increases tremendously because everyone is there to give ang pow... hehehe...and so this was another reason why collection was bad for this year.

Other than that the much awaited celebration turned out to be way too good. And the wait has been a very worth while wait.

Rupster says "Blue & White"

Time has been passing by so fast that Rupster completely forgot about doing Deepavali shopping.

Yes it was said in the beginning that this year there wont be much of shopping because we were saving up for the December trip. But what is Deepavali without shopping? You just don't seem to get into the festive mode without going out and joining the public and enjoying the colorful atmosphere.

Everyone has been extremely busy at home. Dad and Mom has been in the shop like the entire day and non of us have time to prepare anything at at all. Thus its all going to be at a very minimal level this year.

Had a little time today away from assignments, thus decided to head to KL Sentral to check out what happening on that side this year. Nothing much though. Just the same usual stuff. The place seems to be smaller compared to the last few years.

Things are all almost the same too. But the prices seems to be reduced very much. Only one thing for sure is Rupster FINALLY got the blue & white suit that has been on search for the last 3 years!!!

YES!!!

3 long years....its not that there was never a blue & white suit. But you know.It has to always be like love on first sight. When you see it, it straight gets into your heart. Yeap. So that is what Rupster has been trying to get all these years.

And finally this year she sees it and grabs it!! Even the shop seller already knew her from the previous sale that they had in June. So bargained and bargained.

Ended up getting 2 suits =)...a blue & white and an light Orange & white...now the question is there are 4 untouched suits to choose from to use for this year??

Which would be the lucky choice????

Hmmmm.....think think think....

Rupster says "About the double entry"

Rupster is back from the silence...things are yet to be back as normal...but still,Rupster is still finding solutions to all those unaswered questions that has been running aroun all the while. With all those silence, Rupster still manage to keep busy....

Yeap, other than assignments and all due Rupster kept busy by going for Deepavali shopping with family. Rupster practically coverd all the shopping areas for Deepavali. Rupster marked attendence at KL Sentral, Klang, Masjid India and Sentul because Rupster passes by that place everyday!!!!. hahaha....

We don't have to the spending part but all that can be said is Rupster managed to get all together 4 suits for this year!!! The best part was....3 suits were all orange from different shades...Thus, accessories need not to be extra got it matched all 3!!! *that's what they say smart shopping* But the truth is Rupster did not even realize that the colours were all almost the same until it was unpacking time at home :)

The DoReMi that we take every year

Rupster's family tradition of the "Open House" continued this year. This year it was back to the small scale do ike how it used to be 4 years back. This year, it was back to only calling neighbours, friends and a few family members. Since it was back to a smaller crowd, so the cooking was all done at home. Marketing was done a day earlier and all the cutting and chopping too. Dont know why,but this year everything seemed to be last minute. The cleaning of the house, marketing and so on. Usually Rupster makes a timetable for everyone. This time nothing seemed to be working out!!

Cousins by law BUT sisters by nature

Rupster's deco..and it was the hit of the day =)

At least everything went on smoothly on the day itself. There was no rush in entertaining the guests like it used to be. It was much more relaxing. Previous years, the crowd used to be very big and it was a bit kelam-kabut. Not this time.

Deepavali day itself was a tiring yet joyable day. It was all the way eating and pigging out day!!! Though all the houses had almost the same dishes, but it all tasted different. Not to forget,it was all so yummy!!!So how u resist on not eating??There fore, with the excuse of "Deepavali is only once a year" the food goes in happily.

Month Review

The month of OCTOBER???

So much has heppend and is still happening. Answers are still being searched but yet, life still goes on. Most of the assignements were due this month because final exams are in November!!!Thats how fast time has been runing. Rupster is almost done with Degree's 1st semester.

October also sees one of the best things a students life. That is when a student graduates. Rupster graduated from Diploma in this month. It was really unbeliaveable. After all the shits that happen it was a very relaving feeling to finally hold the sroll for the very first time. Thats the only the first step. Next Rupster has to work really hard to achieve the goals for Degree.

Yet, thankfully things are already improving. Hopefully by next month, its all going to be back as normal.Rupster also cant wait for November because its HOLIDAYS!!! Of course plans have been made. So keep coming back to see where and what Rupster is going to explore and has explored!!!
